Why Your Website, Your App, And Your Social Media Should Come From The Same Team

Eleven Softwares Team5 min read

The silo problem

A common pattern we see when we take over a project: the marketing agency doesn't know a feature shipped last month, and the dev shop doesn't know a campaign is about to send ten times the usual traffic to a page that's never been load-tested. Neither side did anything wrong. They just never talk to each other, because they were never the same team to begin with.

The customer is the one who feels it: an ad that promises something the product doesn't do yet, or a social post driving people to a signup form that's been quietly broken for a week.

What changes when it's one team

When the people building the product and the people promoting it sit in the same room, campaigns get planned around what's actually shipping, not around a release calendar nobody on the marketing side has seen. A feature launch and the content around it go out together, instead of a feature launching quietly and marketing finding out from a customer.

A day-to-day example

One retail client we work with plans their social content calendar directly against our sprint board. When a new product configurator ships, the launch post is ready the same week, filmed using the actual feature, not a mockup of it. When we know a promotion is about to drive a traffic spike, we make sure the page it lands on can take it.

Why we built Eleven Softwares this way

It's the reason we do both engineering and marketing under one roof instead of just one. A business shouldn't have to be the translator between two vendors who've never spoken to each other. When it's one team, the software and the story around it move at the same speed.
