Overview

The situation

The Ohio Painting Company has years of experience delivering high-end interior, exterior, and commercial painting across Dayton and Cincinnati. But their website wasn't doing their work justice — service categories were unclear, mobile experience was poor, and there was no smooth path to getting a quote. They needed a digital presence that matched the premium quality they delivered on every job.

Challenge

What we had to solve

Local service businesses like painting companies live and die by trust and first impressions. A potential customer comparing three painters online will choose the one whose website feels most professional, most transparent, and easiest to act on. The challenge was repositioning Ohio Painting from just another contractor in search results into the obvious premium choice — through design, content structure, and a frictionless quote flow.

Case Study

How we built it

01Day 1–2

Discovery & Customer Journey Mapping

We mapped the full customer decision journey — from searching for painting services through comparing providers to requesting a quote. Two audiences were identified: homeowners looking for residential interior and exterior work, and businesses seeking commercial painting. Each had different trust triggers and different information needs, which shaped the service page structure and CTA placement throughout the site.

02Day 3–5

UI/UX Design & Prototyping

Using Figma, we designed a clean, sophisticated interface that led with strong visuals of finished paint jobs — letting the quality of the work sell itself. Service categories were clearly differentiated: interior, exterior, faux finishes, and commercial. Trust signals — reviews, process steps, and certifications — were structured to appear at every key decision point. A clickable prototype was signed off before development began.

03Day 6–11

WordPress Development & Content

The site was built on WordPress with a custom theme, fully responsive and optimised for page load speed. Dedicated service pages were built for each offering, each with targeted copy, project imagery, and a quote-request CTA. The process transparency section — walking customers through exactly what working with Ohio Painting looks like from first call to final coat — was built to reduce hesitation and increase conversion from first-time visitors.

04Day 12–14

QA, SEO & Launch

QA covered cross-device rendering, form functionality, image optimisation, and page speed. Local SEO was applied across all service pages — targeting painting and home improvement searches across Dayton, Cincinnati, and the surrounding region. The site launched on day 14, on schedule, with a polished result that positioned Ohio Painting clearly above the competition in their market.

Our work always spoke for itself — the problem was no one could find us online, and when they did, the website didn't match the quality we delivered. Now it does. Quote requests have tripled and we're winning jobs we wouldn't have even been considered for before.
