Overview

The situation

NextGEN GVL is an entrepreneurship network in Greenville's Upstate region, built to support high-potential founders with mentorship, funding access, and community. But their digital presence didn't reflect the energy or ambition of what they were building. Events were scattered, resources were hard to find, and there was no single place where a founder could arrive, understand the ecosystem, and take a meaningful next step. They needed a platform that matched their mission.

Challenge

What we had to solve

Startup networks serve multiple audiences simultaneously — founders seeking support, investors scouting talent, mentors offering guidance, and community members wanting to stay connected. Each audience arrives with a different intent and needs a different path through the site. The challenge was building a cohesive, energetic digital experience that served all of them clearly, without the site feeling cluttered or unfocused.

Case Study

How we built it

01Day 1–2

Discovery & User Journey Mapping

We mapped three core user journeys: founders seeking mentorship and funding pathways, investors and mentors looking to engage with promising talent, and community members wanting to follow events and success stories. These journeys shaped the entire information architecture — ensuring every visitor landed on content relevant to them within seconds of arriving.

02Day 3–5

UI/UX Design & Interactive Prototyping

Using Figma, we designed a clean, modern interface that communicated energy, opportunity, and credibility — the qualities a founder community needs to project to attract both grassroots members and serious investors. Bold typography, purposeful whitespace, and a structured content hierarchy made the platform feel ambitious without being overwhelming. An interactive prototype was reviewed and approved before development began.

03Day 6–11

WordPress Development

The site was built on WordPress with a custom theme, featuring custom modules for event registration, mentor-match listings, and a resource hub. Success stories and founder spotlights were structured as a dedicated content type to build credibility and inspire new members. Upcoming summits and funding opportunities were surfaced prominently throughout the site, with clear CTAs driving founders toward the actions that mattered most.

04Day 12–14

QA, SEO & Launch

QA covered mobile responsiveness, form submissions, event registration flows, and page speed. SEO fundamentals were applied targeting entrepreneurship, startup, and founder-community searches in the Greenville and Upstate South Carolina region. The site launched on schedule — clean, fast, and ready to grow with the network.
